The INVIDIA shared hosting platform can meet most web site and eCommerce requirements however all resources are shared amongst all shared platform users. As the shared hosting platform is fully managed it also means that things like Microsoft updates and hardware upgrades are applied by INVIDIA as required and the client doesn't have any control around scheduled outage times or software version levels. It also means that all processing power and bandwidth is shared across all 250 odd shared hosting platform servers and if there are large usage volumes in any part of the platform then it can affect the performance for all platform users.
The INVIDIA dedicated hosting platform on the other hand allows clients to completely control their own hosting environment. The only area we control for the client is their firewall configuration and this is just to make sure that they don't lock themselves out of their own servers. With the dedicated hosting platform clients have full control over thier server or cluster of servers. Clients decide when to apply Microsoft updates or when hardware upgrades need to occur. Clients can also install any software* they like on their server or cluster and their technical staff have full administrator control over their hosting environment. Clients also have dedicated bandwidth supporting their server or cluster directly. This means that no matter how large the load on any other server or cluster, a client's server or cluster will perform at optimal speeds.
